One day covers the Grand Palace, Damnoen Saduak and the Maeklong Railway Market, with 3.5 to 4 hours of that day spent moving between them.
Updated 26 October 2026
The floating market and Grand Palace one day tour Bangkok runs 8.5 hours and holds three stops: 120 minutes inside the Grand Palace, 90 minutes at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and 30 minutes at the Maeklong Railway Market. Prices start from THB 2000 per adult, covering the Grand Palace admission ticket, a cruise at Damnoen Saduak, bottled water, travel insurance and all transport on the itinerary. Lunch and personal expenses are not included.
Travel takes a large share of the day. The operator puts it at approximately 3.5 to 4 hours, including public transport and boat transfers between destinations, which is the trade-off for a 07:30 am start from the river instead of a hotel pickup. Damnoen Saduak lies roughly 100 km southwest of the city, usually 1.5 to 2 hours by road.
The order of the stops decides what the canal looks like. Beginning at the palace means you arrive at Damnoen Saduak after the 07:00 to 09:30 window when trading is at its liveliest and the water still moves; by about 09:30 the main canal is gridlocked with tour-group boats, so plan on the busy version of Ton Khem and Hia Kui. Travellers who care more about the canal than the palace should look at the early-departure tours on this site instead.
Thirty minutes at Maeklong is a short slot, and what you see there depends on the timetable. The market trades every day from 07:00 to 16:00, but only four trains a day run the Ban Laem to Mae Klong section, arriving at roughly 08:30, 11:10, 14:30 and 17:40, and those are the moments when the awnings come down and the stalls slide back from the rails. Ask the guide on the day whether your half hour lines up with an arrival.
Dress for the palace before you leave your hotel. Covered shoulders and knees are required, short shorts, mini skirts, tank tops and see-through clothes are turned away, and visitors who get it wrong end up renting or buying a cover-up at the gate. Slip-on shoes save time, since shoes come off before you enter temple halls.
8.5 hours from a central meeting point by the river, from THB 2000, with Grand Palace admission, the canal cruise, bottled water and all transport on the itinerary included. Rated 4.8 ★ (17 reviews).

Three close alternatives exist, and they split in two directions. One keeps the same three sights in 7 to 8 hours from THB 880, but it carries a 3.7 rating from three reviews against the 4.8 ★ (17 reviews) on this page. The two 4-hour options drop the canal and the train market entirely and stay in the old city with the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, which makes sense if you have already set aside a separate morning for Damnoen Saduak.
